Question 2: What is the difference between an acknowledgement and jurat notary certificate?

Question 3: Can you notarize a document for a customer with an expired driver's license?

Texas law requires a valid, non-expired, government-issued (state or federal) photo ID for notarization. If the signer's ID is expired, the notary must refuse service unless they personally know the signer or have two credible witnesses (with unexpired identification) who can vouch for the signer's identity.
